ABSTRACT

We have sampled settled dust in German museums. In some cases we have found high amounts of pesticides like pentachlorophenol (PCP) and chloronaphthalene. The reason is treatment of wooden sculptures. The results of a case study is reported, with very high concentrations of PCP and naphthalenes which cause possible health risk for employes and visitors.
