Born in 1967, in Odense, Denmark.

1991, Art photography study at Samsø Folkehøjskole

1995, Konserveringstekniker (BSc) from the Graphic Art Department, School of Conservation, Copenhagen; Thesis work on preservational concerns when exhibiting photographic artworks

1995-97, Conservator at the Danish Museet for Fotokunst (The Museum of Photographic Art)

2001, Cand.Scient.Cons (MSc) from the Master Programme, School of Conservation, Copenhagen; thesis work on detection of carboxylic acids from construction materials in the museum environment

Since January 2001 I have been employed as Research assistant at the Conservation Department laboratory of the National Museum of Denmark
working with the indoor climate in the collection areas of the National Museum.
I'm also the webmaster of the Conservation Department website.

Besides my work at the National Museum I lecture about Preventive Conservation & Indoor Air Quality and Climate at the Danish School of Conservation.

I'm a member of the ICOM-CC workgroups "Photographic Records" and "Preventive Conservation", the Indoor Air Pollution Workgroup (IAP), and I'm co-chair of the ISIAQ Task Force on Indoor Air Quality and Climate in Cultural and Heritage Institutions.

My personal interests includes various fields of science, like robots & artificial life, space & rocket science, and ecological house building. I enjoy music styles like indie and techno, and I'm very interested in the modern art scene.

I'm married to Karin Bonde Johansen, who is a moviefilm conservator at The Danish Film Institute. We live in Copenhagen. We have two sons: Kristoffer who was born i 1998, and Rasmus who was born in 2003.
